Summer in Alaska

A Summer In Alaska

Photos & Text by Nora Fleischer

Alaska is known to many as the last frontier – to me, it’s the greatest place on earth. I grew up in Alaska, giving me the opportunity to see so many amazing things. It really wasn’t until this summer, however, that I stepped outside of the city [Anchorage] and really started exploring.

These past three months I have traveled all around Alaska – including Denali, Valdez and Seward.  I’ve spent much of my summer hiking mountains, deep sea kayaking, exploring glaciers, and chasing the auroras. I’ve seen so many incredible, breathtaking views; some harder to get to than others. I’ve had my share of twisted ankles, Devil’s Club, and freezing cold because it was pouring rain the whole hike. Getting to the top of the mountain is always worth it, though, no matter how impossible it seems at first.

This summer has really made me appreciate where I live and I don’t think I’ll be stopping anytime soon. I plan on sharing all my adventures through my photography, no matter where they take me.
