Your Voice – Doing it Anyway

Call for Women On The Road Voice Submissions

We’re looking for voice submissions for an upcoming episode of Women On The Road, and we want to pass the mic over to those of you who overcome challenges to road travel and make it happen anyway. Maybe you squeeze yourself into the car you have and get away for weeks or months at a time. Maybe you have a mortgage or a demanding career and getting on the road, even for a weekend, is something you’re proud of. Maybe it’s money, or taking care of relatives, or even the reluctance of a partner.

Whatever your challenges may be, we want to hear how you find creative solutions to getting on the road– whenever and however you can.

Submit a 3-minute voice memo below or leave a voicemail via 617-917-4721.

This is an open call for your unique story, but if you want to submit a memo and do better with prompts, here are a few ideas to get you started:

  1. What do you do to get on the road, and what does your travel look like?
  2. What motivates you to travel on the road, even with the challenges you face?
  3. How does overcoming these challenges or finding creative solutions make you feel? Is it empowering, exhausting, or something else?
  4. Tell us about a time you got on the road after overcoming a challenge.

Submissions close Friday, May 18 at 11:59PM PDT.

Recording Tips: As tricky as it is to do, try to forget about the recorder. Talk like you’re telling a story to a friend. Listen back and don’t worry too much about the sound of your own voice – you’re the only one who feels that way about it. <3
