Your Voice – After the Road
Call for Women On The Road Voice Submissions
We’re looking for voice submissions for an upcoming episode of Women On The Road, and this time we want to hear stories and insights from those of you who transitioned (or are transitioning) to a more stationary life after traveling on the road for a time. Whether you took part in a cross-country move, lived on the road full-time in a camper, or saved up for a summer-long road trip, the feelings of change associated with coming home or settling into a new routine off the road are something we want to know about.
Submit a 3-minute voice memo below or leave a voicemail via 617-917-4721.
This is an open call for your unique story, but if you want to submit a memo and do better with prompts, here are a few ideas to get you started:
- What did it feel like to get off the road?
- How did you know it was time for a change, and how did you decide what the next step was?
- What were your fears and joys around getting off the road, and how did they match up to your actual lived experiences?
- What do you miss the most about your road travels, and what have you done to incorporate adventure into your life after your trip ended?
Submissions close Sunday, March 31 at 11:59PM PDT.
Recording Tips: As tricky as it is to do, try to forget about the recorder. Talk like you’re telling a story to a friend. Listen back and don’t worry too much about the sound of your own voice – you’re the only one who feels that way about it. <3
