A calendar is a practical gift, and can be a beautiful one. It’s especially wonderful when it’s full of outdoor-inspired art and purchased directly from an independent artist.
Many of these art calendars are also designed to transform easily from calendar to frameable wall art (or a postcard to send) so the art can be enjoyed well beyond the month it’s displayed, or the year that it’s dated.

Mountains of the United States Calendar by Noelle Phares + Wylder
Each month of Noelle’s water-colour and mixed media calendar celebrates the mountains of the USA—from the Vermillion Cliffs of Arizona to Glacier Bay in Alaska.

Papercut Postcard Calendar by Anna Brones
In her classic monochrome papercut illustrations, Anna Brones depicts various vegetables in repeating pattern themed after seasonal produce. After every month is over, just cut along the dotted line on the back and turn it into a postcard. Anna says, it’s “a calendar to encourage the art of snail mail.”

National Parks Calendar by Erin Vaughan
Erin has three variations of her National Parks calendars this year. This one includes paintings of: Mt. Rainier, Denali, Yellowstone, Glacier, Olympic, Acadia, Crater Lake, Zion, Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Badlands, Great Smoky Mountains, and Sequoia.

Painted Landscapes Calendar by Charis Raine

Natural History Artwork Calendar by Kristin Link
Each month features different artwork highlighting the natural history of Alaska. Themes include plants, fungi, plankton, and landscapes rendered in various techniques (field sketches, water-colour, illustration on ephemera, cyanotype prints). Artwork can be removed from calendar and framed to be enjoyed in future years.
