Elizabeth immediately drew us in with her tactile watercolor illustrations. Her eye is feminine and invites the viewer to join her on the page. The subject is sometimes alone on a white background, allowing us to paint the backdrop in our minds. Whether your wonder is a mountaintop, the lake’s edge, or a busy farmer’s market, we love that Elizabeth lets you fill in the blanks of her beautiful work.
Of course, her colorful landscapes are not to be missed either – make sure to see them in her Etsy store.
Allowing the watercolors to have a life of their own, as they bleed together and slowly bloom, is liberating to me — It’s an act of letting go.
“Art has been my ‘center’ for as long as I can remember. I feel I’m my best self when I am looking at, discussing, thinking about and creating art. I believe there is nothing better than getting lost in your work, going inward to create a reflection of the soul, then sharing it with someone else. I’ve worked with a variety of media, but it’s the spontaneity and immediacy of watercolor that feels the most organic to me. Allowing the watercolors to have a life of their own, as they bleed together and slowly bloom, is liberating to me — It’s an act of letting go.”
