It all started in 2014 with a blog, and now we also host a podcast, produce audio miniseries, cultivate a digital community, and collaborate on special projects with a lot of really incredible people.
She Explores is committed to creating a space where others’ voices are amplified, expression is encouraged, and connection is fostered.
We’re always on the lookout for how the conversation about the intersection of gender and the outdoors is changing, for voices that still aren’t being heard, for what’s next in the outdoor industry and environmental world, for discussions that are hard to start but important to have, and for stories that reveal we are not alone—even in our private journeys.
We know there is no “one way” we find ourselves outside, and we’re dedicated to creating a platform for beginners and experts alike that honors the myriad ways we show up with curiosity outdoors.
At She Explores, we welcome readers, listeners, interviewees, and contributors of all races, ethnicities, body sizes, sexual orientations, genders, and ability levels, and will always strive for equity while working towards a welcoming and more inclusive environment. That said, we primarily highlight narratives that have historically been underrepresented in the outdoor and travel space.

Just as we understand that nature doesn’t exist on a binary, neither does gender. While we often uplift women in our work, we know that not all women use she/her pronouns, nor are all those who use she/her pronouns women. We welcome in our community all those who identify with our purpose.
